HITACHI ZAXIS ZX SERIES ENGINE WATER PUMP | Tonkee®
The primary function of the engine water pump is to circulate coolant (usually a mixture of water and antifreeze) through the engine's cooling system. As the engine operates, it generates a tremendous amount of heat. The water pump draws coolant from the radiator and forces it through the engine block, cylinder heads, and other components where it absorbs heat. It then returns the heated coolant to the radiator, where it releases heat and is cooled before recirculation. This continuous process maintains the engine at an optimal operating temperature, preventing overheating that could lead to severe damage.
